Job Description
We are seeking one Systems Analyst III to perform business data analysis in support of new and enhanced system capabilities. This role will focus on analyzing business requirements, documenting data-related processes, mapping current and future states, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The selected candidate will write Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria, ensuring clear communication of functional and non-functional requirements to technical and QA teams. Collaboration with product owners, business users, and stakeholders will be essential to ensure alignment between business objectives and system functionality.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze existing business requirements to understand current functionality, data flows, and challenges.
• Elicit and document comprehensive business requirements for new or enhanced systems.
• Write Epics and User Stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure system requirements support business objectives.
• Document current-state processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Create and maintain data-focused documentation, including data dictionaries and mapping specifications.
• Develop data models, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate trends and timelines.
• Lead and facilitate data-focused meetings and interviews.
• Ensure accurate translation of business discussions into actionable requirements.
• Support and participate in Agile sprint activities as required.
Required Experience/Skills
• 8 years hands-on experience as a business data analyst in IT
• 8 years collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to analyze complex, data-driven business problems
• 8 years experience designing and optimizing data workflows and processes using modeling or mapping tools
• 8 years writing Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria
• 8 years creating and maintaining data-related documentation (data dictionaries, BRDs, mapping)
• 8 years designing and presenting visual data models and dashboards
• 8 years leading data-focused meetings and interviews
Preferred Experience/Skills
• 4 years Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4 years multi-tasking experience managing concurrent data projects
• 3 years working knowledge of SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF eligibility rules
• 3 years interpreting policy within integrated eligibility case management systems
• 3 years experience leading and coordinating JAD sessions
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field
Pay & Benefits Summary
• Competitive hourly compensation

• Standard business hours, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
