Overview

We are seeking a Director of Project Controls to provide oversight across multiple construction divisions. This role is responsible for ensuring that project management, cost control, forecasting, and reporting processes are being executed with consistency, rigor, and accuracy. The position reports directly to the President and operates independently across operations, project management, and accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit active and recently completed projects across divisions to validate cost, schedule, WIP, forecasting, and change management practices
• Evaluate whether project controls and escalation processes are being followed as designed, and identify gaps or breakdowns
• Participate in key project touchpoints (project startup, forecast reviews, change order reviews) to validate controls in real time
• Identify emerging risks early and escalate findings with clear, fact-based recommendations
• Work closely with project managers, operations, and accounting while maintaining independence and objectivity
• Develop and enforce standardized project controls, review checkpoints, and reporting expectations
• Provide regular executive-level reporting on trends, risks, and systemic issues
• Support continuous improvement of forecasting discipline, accountability, and transparency across the organization
 

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in project controls, construction operations, project management, or capital project oversight
• Strong working knowledge of construction cost controls, earned revenue/WIP, forecasting, and change management
• Experience overseeing multiple projects or business units preferred
• Demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions and communicate clearly with senior leadership
• Comfortable operating independently with direct executive access
• Construction, utility, or infrastructure experience strongly preferred
