Backed by world class angel and institutional investors, and supported by advisors and industry veterans at the intersection of pharma, consumer products, and healthcare, we are building with ambition and purpose.

Role Description

Were looking for a Director of Project Management to lead execution across our platform as programs move toward clinical trials and commercialization. This role is responsible for bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex, crossfunctional development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own integrated program plans across R&D, CMC, regulatory, clinical, quality, and external partners
  • Build and maintain program timelines, critical paths, dependencies, and decision logs; keep teams aligned and accountable
  • Establish and manage budgets, forecasts, burn tracking, and scenario planning across programs and vendors
  • Lead vendor oversight, including CRO/CDMO relationships, consultant management, and performance governance
  • Drive contract execution workflows (SOWs, MSAs, change orders), ensuring clarity on scope, deliverables, timelines, and cost
  • Own program governance, including core team cadence, gate reviews, escalation pathways, and executive/board ready program updates
  • Identify risks early, maintain a risk tracker, drive mitigation plans, and proactively escape tradeoffs with clear options and recommendations
  • Rapidly establish execution and launch readiness for multiple programs, including commercialization focused planning, and crossfunctional reviews
  • Keep crossfunctional teams aligned across R&D, CMC, Regulatory, Clinical, Quality, Supply Chain, and Ops to sustain momentum and hit key milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineers to align custom equipment/process development with program timelines and stage appropriate manufacturing strategy
  • Be hands on: jump in to unblock teams, manage ambiguity, and travel to vendors/sites when critical operations require it

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in biotech/pharma project management (R&D/CMC/clinical), or commensurate experience demonstrating equivalent impact and leadership
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, crossfunctional programs with external partners (CRO/CDMO/consultants)
  • Proven ability to manage contracts and vendor scopes (SOWs/MSAs/change orders) and drive on time, on budget delivery
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and moving quickly without sacrificing rigor; ability to learn new technical domains fast
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to drive alignment across deep experts
  • Strong judgment, high ownership, low ego, and a collaborative style that supports a high trust culture

Who You Are

  • Thoughtful and highstandards, able to adapt quickly without losing rigor
  • Comfortable having hard conversations with empathy, clarity, and respect
  • Motivated by meaningful challenges and improving patients lives
  • Proactive by nature. You look for ways to help beyond your role and enjoy unblocking others

Why Join Gaia

  • Contribute to a fundamental shift in how we relate to medicine and create a world class product that touches billions of lives.
  • The opportunity to help develop revolutionary drug delivery technologies that lead to far better patient outcomes and quality of life.
  • Working alongside a world class internal team as well as our external advisors, clinicians, and investors.
  • Join early with a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and full health benefits
  • A culture that values creativity, inclusivity, kindness, and a shared mission to make the world healthier.
  • A dynamic role that evolves with the company, offering flexibility to take on new challenges in areas of high impact.
