Job Details Are you an active or retired law enforcement officer seeking flexible and well-compensated security opportunities at a prominent hospital in the Streeterville/Gold Coast neighborhood of downtown Chicago? P4 Security is looking for dedicated professionals to ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, and visitors. Earn $40 per hour and above while making a difference in a vital healthcare environment.
Shifts Available: - Day Shift
- Night Shift
- Third Shift
- Weekend Shift
Key Responsibilities: - Maintain a high level of alertness and visibility while posted to assigned security locations within the hospital.
- Provide superior customer service and assistance to hospital staff, patients, and visitors at all times.
- Conduct routine foot patrols of hospital facilities, surrounding grounds, parking areas, and designated secure zones to deter unauthorized activity and identify safety risks.
- Maintain presence at static security posts such as entrances, lobbies, emergency departments, and restricted access areas.
- Enforce facility policies regarding access control, visitor screening, and staff safety protocols.
- Accurately complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) documenting observed incidents, unusual activity, equipment or facility damage, and the presence of unauthorized individuals.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, and notify appropriate personnel according to protocol.
- Adhere to all client-specific and P4S operational procedures and expectations.
Qualifications: - Minimum: High School Diploma, GED, or Educational Requirements from the respective agencies.
- For the location, correctional officers are not applicable to apply.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen.
- Possess or obtain a valid PERC (Permanent Employee Registration Card) from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- For Active Law Enforcement Officers: Must present a valid VE-PEC (Verification of Employment - Professional Exemption Card) from IDFPR. Authorized firearm carry must comply with employer policies and Illinois law.
- For Retired Law Enforcement Officers: Must possess a valid PERC and FCC (Firearm Control Card) if employed in an armed capacity. Must be certified under IROCC (Illinois Retired Officer Concealed Carry), including annual firearm qualification and proof of honorable separation. Must operate in accordance with all IDFPR rules for armed/unarmed private security personnel.
