Located in Pomona, CA on the grounds of the Los Angeles County Fairplex, the museum celebrates the impact of motorsports on American culture. The museum collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets the vehicles, stories and artifacts that represent Americas affection for, and the influence of, automotive speed and style in all its forms. Our collection includes dragsters, land speed vehicles, race cars, customs, hot rods and a changing array of one-of-a-kind vehicles that tell the story of American hot rodding.

The Job

We seek an energetic and customer service-oriented individual to assist our museum staff with a wide range of duties that can include selling museum admissions, merchandise and assisting visitors with general inquiries. Position includes working occasional off-site NHRA events such as car shows and motorsports events not located at the museum. This is a part-time position with a starting hourly rate of $16.50 and availability to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills required; ability to make each visitor feel welcome
• Strong team player with good communication skills in English
• Demonstrated knowledge of windows-based computer systems and point-of-sale systems
• Experience with retail sales and/or store operations preferred
• Travel required for museum "off-site" events; must be able to travel by car and/or air
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods at a time
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs with minimal assistance
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends
• Ability to drive company vehicle with a trailer attached; a Driver's License and ability to be insured our insurance policy is required.
