Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation
\n• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
\n• Weekend requirements include working Friday/Saturday/Sunday shifts
\n• Night shift staff must work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
\n• Day shift staff must work 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule
\n• Day shift workers required to work minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
\n• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
\n• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
\n• Patient ratios goal is 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6
\n• Must float to Tele or MedSurg units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
\n• Expected to work in Pandemic Unit when needed
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
\n• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
\n• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
\n• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
\n• 50-mile radius rule applies
\n• Two-day orientation: first day includes 4 hours with HR and 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor
\n• Common patient types include chest pain, r/o MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients
\n• Use Allscripts charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
\n• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) featuring 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac and intermediate care services with 24/7 hospitalist coverage, in-house intensivist support, and resident physicians available around the clock. The organization maintains robust support services including 24/7 IV team, PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services, ensuring comprehensive patient care and clinical support for nursing staff.
