\nJob Summary:
\nUnder limited supervision performs routine techniques on surgical, autopsy, and research tissue according to standardized procedures. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment required to perform analysis.
\n
\nPrinciple Duties And Responsibilities:
\n-Cuts surgical, autopsy, research and neuropathology tissue using a rotary microtome.
\n-Embeds surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue.
\n-Stains, coverslips and labels surgical, autopsy, research and neuropathology tissue.
\n-Under supervision, performs special stains according to standardized procedures.
\n-Maintains all equipment and instruments. May demonstrate work to help onboard others.
\n-Mixes and maintains all solutions including stains and special fixatives.
\n-Maintains and records all QC, CAP, QA instrument function and maintenance records.
\n-Maintains a current inventory of all reagents and supplies.
\n-Adheres to Standard Work for all job duties and reports deviations for correction. Participates in data collection and quality improvement efforts.
\n-Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
\nDay Shift 7am-3:30pm M-F
