Job Description Junior Loan Officer Do you prefer family-owned, publicly traded, or community-owned and focused? Do you appreciate a team that works like a close-knit family with a community-feel and culture? A favorite community-oriented financial institution is looking for a Loan Officer to join its team. Although the President realizes there will be a lot of training to do in this role, this Junior Banker role seeks people who already have worked in a bank at some level. Previous industry experience is required. Internships count as well as working in a bank or credit union in high school, or college. Please make sure those jobs are on your resume.
This Loan Officer should succeed in working in a positive, team-oriented environment, contributing to the bank's ongoing success. This bank offers its Bankers good wages, but is looking for the person who desires opportunity and work/life balance as part of the professional satisfaction package. This organization is in conservative commercial Loan growth mode! We seek, for this role (but I serve other banks and credit unions also) a banking generalist.

Identify and refer a wide range of commercial banking services by following a proactive sales and business development plan.
- Develop new loans and manage the existing loan portfolio
- Maintain an ongoing business development program to assist existing customers and solicit new customers to the bank
- Monitor loan portfolio & loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past-due accounts
- Build a book of business specializing in commercial loans
Requirements For Commercial Loan Officer :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
- An internship or 1-2 years minimum.
- Strong business development and credit risk assessment skills
- People leadership is helpful
- Knowledge of Bank regulations regarding lending and debt collection
- Need to be from a community bank or Commercial Loans credit union atmosphere and be involved in local communities
