Summary

Participants learn to continue the revision process from the first draft through peer sharing, revision, editing, and publishing.

Instructional Strategies

1. When assigning a writing task, break it up into the following components: Pre-Write; First Draft; Mini Lesson; Peer Share; Revise; Edit; Publish.

2. To Pre-Write, participants research, brainstorm, and outline their ideas.

3. Then they write their First Draft.

4. You will deliver a mini-lesson based on common grammatical or other writing errors.

5. Participants then read each otherÕs work during a Peer Share.

6. Next, participants Revise, Edit, and finally Publish!

Participant Tasks

1. Beak up your writing assignments into the following components: Pre-Write; First Draft; Mini Lesson; Peer Share; Revise; Edit; Publish.

2. To Pre-Write, find a partner or partners to research, brainstorm, and outline your ideas.

3. Then, write your first draft.

4. Pay attention to common grammatical or other writing errors.

5. Read your partnerÕs work during a Peer Share.

6. Next, Revise, Edit, and finally Publish!
