Job Summary:

The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for the organization, efficiency, and accuracy of work performed and data obtained.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determines appropriate surveying techniques to be used on each project.
• Gathers survey data using global positioning systems (GPS) and Total station to map areas and measure angles, distances, and elevations.
• Analyzes plans, plats, and legal documents to appropriately plan work.
• Defines boundaries for property and rights of way.
• Take accurate field notes, sketches and additional documentation for all surveys performed.
• Ensures the work meets standards and that assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Magnet Field software.
• Thorough understanding of and ability to execute proper field survey procedures and techniques.
• Thorough understanding of mathematical calculations used in field surveys and the ability to identify mistakes in calculations.
• Ability to perform all aspects of field surveys.
