Beanbags of Cooperation

A fun, noncompetitive game that clearly demonstrates concentration, cooperation, and commitment. You will need a large indoor or outdoor space and many bean bags (or other items safe to throw and catch). Youth form a large circle, and they are paired up in teams of two. Each youth must remember their partner throughout the game. State game rules such as do not throw wildly or at the face, maintain eye contact, and that it is OK to drop a bean bag – just pick it up and keep playing. In the large circle, youth toss the bean bags back and forth to their partner only, keeping all the bean bags going simultaneously. This can be timed for as many minutes as you like. Afterwards, ask the pairs to state or write two things that they learned from this game, and to share a time when they had to cooperate with others.
