Instructional Strategies

1. Have your participants establish and maintain a garden.

2. Discuss the many benefits, including time with nature, cultivation of living plants, growing of edible foods, and time to reflect.

3. Help participants decide what their space limitations are. The garden can be created in the earth, in containers, in a greenhouse, or on a window ledge.

4. Encourage participants to consider the garden a safe space in which reflection, learning, and calm interactions can occur.

Participant Tasks
