Opportunities to share healthy snacks together builds community. Participants can talk over the production of their food, all while enjoying some delicious snacks.

Instructional Strategies

1. Gather participants to begin eating together.

2. Mark the time with a simple shared message.

3. Parents or teachers can help participants appreciate where our food comes from by conversing about the food.

4. Ask what part of the snack took the longest time to grow, how the snack is helping our bodies, what food traveled the farthest, etc.

5. If available, involvement in a school, home, or community garden is a bonus.

Participant Tasks

1. Join with your family, class, or community for a meal.

2. Begin eating together.

3. Mark the time with a simple shared message.

4. You can learn to appreciate where our food comes from by having a conversation about the food and how it got to the table.
