Summary
Participants create a storyboard depicting an event in history that involves social injustice and develop a supporting narrative to probe how it could have been prevented.
Instructional Strategies
1. Have participants select an event in history that involves social injustice (slavery, women's rights, settlers coming to America, Hawaiian history).
2. Facilitate storyboard creation for the particular event each participant or group of participants selected.
3. Have the participants also create a supporting narrative to present to the class that highlights the social injustice and how it may have been prevented.
4. Display storyboards and have participants act while narrating the story.
5. Include variations on the outcomes.
Participant Tasks
1. Select an event in history that involves social injustice (slavery, women's rights, settlers coming to America, Hawaiian history).
2. Create a storyboard for the event your selected.
3. Also create a supporting narrative to present to the class that highlights the social injustice and how it may have been prevented.
4. Display your storyboard and narrate the story while other participants perform the story as portrayed on your storyboard.
