Summary
By making the lives of Black folks visible among what we commonly think of as Local, the P_poloProject highlights the vivid, complex diversity of Blackness. The P_polo Project produces educational and cultural learning opportunities, hosts community gatherings, and creates original media that creates new narratives for and about Black people, rooting their experiences and identities in a lush ecosystem of knowledge and kinship. The P_polo Syllabus is a living document containing written and other resources about the Black experience in HawaiÃi and the Pacific. Due to it’s living nature, the hashtag #PopoloSyllabus is an invitation to contribute to the collection.
