Hopes & Dreams

A reflection activity that can be done as part of a family meeting, intervention, restorative justice session, or other time in which a “big picture” outlook is desired. Typically done in a small group of people that have love and concern for another group member. For example, a child undergoing a significant change such as divorce of parents, moving to a new state/school, or a medical challenge. Group members state their hopes and dreams for that individual, looking from the present to at least 10 years out, or even to adulthood/old age. These hopes and dreams are written on chart paper for all to see, and they guide the discussion or intervention, to keep it positive and focused on the bigger picture of the collective hopes and dreams of all present.
