Instructional Strategies

1. Facilitate a discussion about how participants are linked in positive, cooperative ways.

2. Have participants create a picture or diagram that shows how they are linked.

3. Then, draw the links that help all succeed with the participation of all participants. Show how they cannot succeed without the participation of all.

4. Positive interdependence can be understood by getting them to talk about mutual goals, joint rewards, shared materials, and assigned roles.

5. All individuals must work together as a group.
