Youth Peacebuilding Groups

We currently run 7 youth-led action planning programs in partnership with several community partners.

Youth Talk Back

Youth Talk Back is cohort of youth from across the state who meet 4 times per year to action plan. YTB has sprouted action plans such as the March for Our Lives of Honolulu, the Puha Stream restoration project, and the Kaua`i High School Students for Change. This program is supported by the Omidyar ‘Ohana, ‘Iolani School, EPIC ‘Ohana, and Hawaiian Airlines.

The Innovatorship

The Innovatorship is a pilot program for Hawai`i Tech Academy students. This semester, 7 HTA students are meeting with Ceeds of Peace every other week to design and launch their own action plans while earning school credit.

Girls Talk Back

Girls Talk Back is a cohort of girls who convene over the course of the summer to learn peacebuilding & community organizing skills, then apply these skills to create real change in their communities. Girls in our GTB program have designed projects to showcase the stories of Micronesians in their community, revitalize Hawaiian culture in their schools, and create an all-inclusive student council to tackle issues like student social & emotional well-being. This program runs in partnership with Women’s Fund of Hawai`i and the American Association of University Women (Honolulu Branch).

History to Action

History to Action is a cohort of 12 former youth winners of Hawai`i History Day. We’ll be convening to facilitate a process to channel their expertise in history into community action. This project will run in partnership with, and in thanks to the Hawai`i Council for the Humanities.

The Global Leadership Program

The Global Leadership Program is a powerful youth-led initiative organized by the Pacific & Asian Affairs Council. Ceeds of Peace is privileged to partner with PAAC to facilitate the action planning process with their youth over several sessions this school year.

The Grace Leadership Program at Kohala Institute

The Grace Leadership Program at Kohala Institute welcomed us to facilitate the action planning process with their middle school youth.

Luke Leaders

Luke Leaders is a program within the Punahou School Luke Center. Here, we are working with a cohort of students to facilitate the action planning process and launch boots-on-the-ground efforts to bring more peace to the students’ communities.
