I met with a small group of identified students to implement MindUp curriculum. We discussed brain basics, how they reacted to and managed stressful situations, and practiced mindfulness via scenarios and focused breathing. Over the course of 9 weeks, students made behavioral changes that were noticed by teachers. Following this small group session, the following school year, all students (1750) were given 2 guidance lessons on mindfulness. Mililani Middle School, Mililani, Hawaii.
